Donna Bassette has been writing and speaking professionally since 2013 to children and adult groups. She has written and published three books...

• “The Dawson Twins, By Way of Egypt” is the first in the Tales of the Ancestor’s  series.  This is a middle school adventure story for children ages 9-13. This book exposes children to Ancient Egyptian culture as they face danger and learn key family values. There are 25 fun projects in the back of the book that parents and teachers to use for further impact and engagement.
• “The Dawson Twins, Magic Door to Egypt”: A vividly illustrated hardcover picture book geared primarily for children ages 7-11. This is an excellent tool for teaching about cultural differences in a positive way that ultimately promotes a mindset of tolerance and kindness.
• “ABCD Egypt, Discovering My ABCs Through Egypt”: Colorful, playful, hand-painted art will keep both parent and child wanting to read it again and again!   This is a great book to expose Any child beginning to learn the alphabet.

The Author: Donna M. Bassette was born in Chicago and raised in the south suburban town of Harvey, Illinois. During her formative years, she developed a passion for children’s education and fitness. Donna earned a Bachelors degree from Western Illinois University in Business Information Systems. She married her college sweetheart and is blessed with three children.

Donna has always written poetry but was driven to write an engaging adventure books for young people when she struggled to find fun books for her children with non-traditional characters and settings, especially as it relates to Africa or African and African-American history. Donna took up her husband’s challenge to fill that void. She plans to write  many magical sequels.
